Researchers

We currently employ four researchers at Koç University Social Policy Center:

Azer Kılıç (Marie Sklodowska-Curie Post-Doctoral Researcher)

Azer Kılıç earned her joint doctoral degrees in Political Science at the University of Cologne and Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies (2013) and in History of Modern Turkey at the Bogazici University (2013). Her research interests include social policy, interest group politics, EU accession processes, and gender. She published in national and international journals.

Çetin Çelik (Marie Curie Research Fund Post-Doctoral Fellow)

Çetin Çelik received his Ph.D. degree in 2012, from Bremen International Graduate School of Social Sciences at University of Bremen, Department of Sociology. His main interest areas are sociology of migration, sociology of education and qualitative research techniques. Çelik holds various research grants and runs researches projects presently on social capital in educational settings, parent - school interactions, and comparative educational systems between Germany and Turkey. His research on these topics were published in journals in English and Turkish.

İbrahim Öker (KU-SPM, Researcher)

İbrahim Öker graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and Public Administration from Middle East Technical University in 2013. He received his master’s degree in Public Policy at Sabancı University in 2014. His research interests are internal migration, social class, public policy, education economics and policy, regional policy, urban policies, e-government and labor market policies. In addition to his M.A. thesis about internal migration, he published two articles about privatization and labor market policies and involved in a project (conducted by TODAİE) about ministry organizations in Turkey. Currently, İbrahim Öker continues his doctoral studies in The Ataturk Institue for Modern Turkish History at Bogazici University.
